Ah, so I finally found out what is wrong with me – I have concussion. Explains a lot! Funnily enough my geek friend Jason suspected I had that over 2 weeks ago, why didn’t doctors figure that out?

A concussion? Did you remember the whole accident? If you didn’t, then by default, you had a concussion. Pretty basic trauma stuff; I’m surprised they didn’t know either. Did you get a CT scan of your head? It is routine practice here that if we receive a patient involved in motor vehicle accident, and they passed out, they get a head scan.
If you didn’t, you’re probably fine. But you should really avoid activities where you are at risk for getting your head bonked again. Because where head injuries are concerned, 1 + 1 doesn’t equal 2, it equals 4.

Ha, I avoid sport anyway, but I’m really clumsy so I do bang my head a far bit as a matter of course.
I didn’t get a CT scan, but I didn’t pass out (or indeed bang my head) so they may not have thought I was that bad. Though it worries me now that I was unsupervised and sleeping so much for the first couple of days. And that I drove myself to my friend’s place straight after the accident and it took about 45 mins for me to navigate there when it should have taken about 10.
As soon as the whiplash was better I realised there was something else going on and as my dad has a head injury I was recognising some of the symptoms. I have an appointment at the concussion clinic early next month so will get checked out more then.
